Nature with a Tap: Media Post
Lesson Theme: Using cell phones to capture everyday nature and how they interact with it while using art and photography principles to create a successful picture.
Grade Level: Intermediate High School
Time: 50 minute class period for 5 days
Lesson Overview:
This lesson not only focuses on nature, but also our awareness in everyday life. The lesson plan focuses on one inclusive project. Students will utilize their camera phones to create a photo incorporating some kind of nature, whatever they decide that to be. They will learn photography tips to take good photos and will incorporate at least two art principles of design in their final photograph. This project also includes an English component. Once students have their final photograph they will think critically about their work and create a six word memoir to go along with their picture. Finally, the students will matte their work and will participate in a class critique which will lead to a reiteration of the essential question ideas.
